After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.
Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.
If you don't kill all of us all at once, whoever's left are not going to be weak ones. The strong ones, and only the strong ones, will survive. The bent but unbroken.

I'm in love with this book. This is a book that will give you a WOW WOW WOW. It's fantastically AMAZING.
Yes, I need to use that capslock.
Let's first talk about the plot. It's original, well-structured and not the usual alien invasion type. We call them the Other here. At the beginning of chapters, we will be intoduced to first 4 Waves which had happened. There are some flashback about how Cassie survived with every Wave and how she ends up alone. And then she struggles to save her brother. It's totally page turner and you'll be easily infested to the story.
The world building is so good. We have some POVs here, which every of them has different survival situation. They create each piece of the story and come together to be one incredible and solid story. BOOM.
Actually I really had that BOOM moment in my head when all the pieces are united. I also shaked the book and kicked my pillow as the impact. I don't know why I did it, I was too hype, lol.
The characters are lovable. Our main narator, Cassie, I will say she's the best narator. I love how she interacts her naration, it's sarcastic and funny at the same time. I cracked up countless times when I read Cassie's part. In the most intense moment, she can blurt out the hilarious adolescent naration without making it cheesy. She can be on the most horrible situation, but she doesn't act like crybaby.
There is also Sam, 5 years old Cassie's brother. He sometimes makes me startle with how he manages to cheer someone up in his tiny feature even when he's also scared.
And also ofcourse I put Cassie's father on my loving-daddy list. I just, oh my God, daddy is amazing (۳˚Д˚)۳
And the swoony part. Yeah, I always keep 1 or 2 (or 3, lol) paragraphs for this section. There is this mysterious guy named Evan Walker who is, yes, swoonworthy. He's the love interest here, and his relationship with Cassie is captivating. He is sweet and selfless, but the 1st rule to survive is trust no one, which makes Cassie struggle with her faith of Evan. I have some flutter moments represented to their relationship.
And there's other love interest, which also a narator. But I can't tell you because it'll be spoiler. But this is not a love triangle yet, we still don't know what will happen in the future.
This book has everything. It has actions (which is very fantastic), romance, drama, fast-paced, badass female lead, plot twist, and humor. I love how the ending is not a deadly cliffhanger, but still gives enormous things of possibility for the next book. And yes, I just can't wait for the 2nd book (۳˚Д˚)۳
Also watch the book trailer! This book trailer is where I intended to buy this book after I saw The 4th Wave trailer. Lol.
