Legend is draped with actions and fighting and jumping. It's a vibrant and fast-paced novel! It's also filled with suspense, although I think it's pretty obvious who is the bad person from the very beginning.
We are introduced with 2 main protaginists, June and Day. June is a prodigy with perfect score and talents in fighting. She devotes her faith to the country, following her brother's career. Day is a Republic's top fugitive who against the country. He makes a chaos in Robin Hood's type, steals for poor people. They are kickass characters, you will love them both.
The world in Legend is also constructed neatly. You will see how perfect Republic controls their country from June, and you will see how bad and awful they are from Day's point of view. There is a fierce political war between Republic and Colonial that didn't run so much in Legend, but I believe we will see more about it in the sequel.
I love that other characters also get their places in the book. We will be shown a brief sight of Metias, June's brother, that is enough to see how smart and caring he is. I love how Marie Lu presented Day's family that makes me care about them.
There is small amount of romance here. I won't say Day and June love each other, it was a little bit rush and more like they just think the other is attractive. There is also a smart girl Tess, who has been lived with Day in street for years. I believe she has a feeling toward Day but she gets sisterzone.
