I write my favorite quotes, words, or whatever I like from The Fault In Our Stars, so this is going to be a spoiler post. If you haven't read the book, go and grab the book.
The first one is Hazel's dad quote. I really love him since this quote and I was almost cried because of this
"You are not a grenade, not to us. Thinking about you dying makes us sad, Hazel, but you are not a grenade. You are amazing. You can't know, sweetie, because you've never had a baby become brilliant young reader with a side interest in horrible television shows, but the joy you bring us is so much greater than the sadness we feel about your illness."
- Hazel's Dad -
And these are the other favorite quotes
"There will come a time when all of us are dead. All of us. There will come a time when there are no human beings remaining to remember that anyone ever existed or that our species ever did anything. There will be no one left to remember Aristotle or Cleopatra, let alone you. Everything that we did and built and wrote and thought and discovered will be forgotten and all of this will have been for naught. Maybe that time is coming soon and maybe it is millions of years away, but even if we survive the collapse of our sun, we will not survive forever. There was time before organisms experienced consciousness, and there will be time after. And if the inevitability of human oblivion worries you, I encourage you to ignore it. God knows that’s what everyone else does."
- Hazel -
"I'm on a roller coaster that only goes up"
- Augustus -
"One swing set, well worn but structurally sound, seeks new home. Make memories with your kid or kids so that someday he or she or they will look into the backyard and feel the ache of sentimentality as desperately as I did this afternoon. It's all fragile and fleeting, dear reader, but with this swing set, your child(ren) will be introduced to the ups and downs of human life gently and safely, and may also learn the most important lesson of all: No matter how hard you kick, no matter how high you get, you can't go all the way around."
- Hazel & Augustus -
"Even when you die, I will still be your mom, Hazel. I won't stop being your mom. Have you stopped loving Gus? Well, the how could I stop loving you?"
- Hazel's Mom -
"The real heroes anyway aren't the people doing things; the real heroes are the people NOTICING things, paying attention. The guy who invented the smallpox vaccine didn't actually invent anything. He just noticed that people with cowpox didn't get smallpox."
- Hazel -
"I can't talk about our love story, so I will talk about math. I am not a mathematician, but I know this: There are infinite numbers between 0 and 1. There's .1 and .12 and .112 and an infinite collection of others. Of course, there is a bigger infinite set of numbers between 0 and 2, or between 0 and a million. Some infinities are bigger than other infinities. A writer we used to like taught us that. There are days, many of them, when I resent the size of my unbounded set. I want more numbers than I'm likely to get, and God, I want more numbers for Augustus Waters than he got. But, Gus, my love, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn't trade it for the world. You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I'm grateful."
- Hazel -
"He wasn't perfect or anything. He wasn't your fairytale Prince Charming or whatever. He tried to be like that sometimes, but I like him best when that stuff fell away."
- Hazel -
"My thoughts are stars I can't fathom into constellations."
- Augustus -
I can't believe I just texted all of above.. Such a long paper term..
========================================
These are some parts where I almost cried and then awkwardly laughed..
I wanted to cry on this..
And then this just made me laughed.
And a minute later, I felt that was creepy.. (I read it in middle of night)
I also wanted to cry at this one...
I also wanted to cry at this one...
And then I cancelled my cry and laughed...
I also like this part... that was me when I read a book with cliffhanger ending.........
And this words actually made me want to cry, but I went to sleep asap so I didn't have time to cry lol.
I think I did some typos..
