It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.
Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.
Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.
Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.
Asleep, he looks like a bleeding Prince Charming chained in the dungeon.
When I was little, I always thought I’d be Cinderella, but I guess this makes me the wicked witch.
But then again, Cinderella didn’t live in a post-apocalyptic world invaded by avenging angels

Don't let less-than-300-pages make you think this book is a short book. The fact that it has one space paragraph and a little smaller font that usual, actually this is a solid book. There are always something happen through the book, non-stop thrilling scenes and actions that made me couldn't stop reading it. Angelfall kept me sleeping at 2 am for 2 days.
The angels are violent, not like what's in the Bible (God, does this make me wrong to love this book?). There is conflict among the angels, there is destruction in the Earth. In 6 weeks, world is in massive chaos, people fight for food and shelter. It's pretty scary a post apocalypstic world Susan Ee creates. I like that the destruction was happened 6 weeks ago, it's still new that people still try to adapt, there is also Resistance force that was just enstablished, new system that people just created.
I like Penryn, her loyalty and braveness are stunning. She was trained to combat, which makes her more badass. She takes care of her family, she will do anything to save her sister. She has complicated relationship with her mother, who is pretty insane that parts of this book that made me cringe were mostly because of her. I love that there's this familial relationship in the book.
The romance is not overwhelmed. There is a small amount of romantic scenes, Penryn is also not all the thinking about Raffe, the wingless angel, because guys, family first! But they both are compatible and their dialogues are funny!
I love every piece of this book, even the ending is a good start for a first book of series :)
