Goodreads :
The official novelization of the upcoming sci-fi blockbuster Pacific Rimfrom visionary director Guillermo del Toro!
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju.
On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
Channel that frustation. Someone tells you you can't do something, you go and figure it out just to prove them wrong.

I actually don't like robotic movie, but because my friend really love Pacific Rim, I gave it a shot. And I ended up watching it twice. Yes, I love the movie!
This is the 1st time I read movie novellization book. It was like rewatching the moview through words and pages! I don't say you have to read this if you love the movie, there is not many different from the movie, but the book shows you more details about the story and setting that you might miss. It also gives detail info about jaegers, rangers, characters, and other informations. It makes the world builing even bigger and mesmerizing!
I feel more connection between Raleigh and Mako because there are plenty of Raleigh's POV. OH WAIT, There are also some Herc's POV. YES. You. Want. It.
Obviously The Hansens are my favorites here (included Max). There is also additional scene between these hot guys. There are some additional scenes from other characters too.
Some scenes aren't captured very well on the book like battle scenes (obviously because PR's CG movie is too gorgeous). But some scenes also work better on the book, like the Drift scenes :)
